The Mill of Milton 5th Anniversary Party
In June of 2017, a new restaurant showed up on the block, The Mill Steakhouse and Spirits.
Now, 5 years later, we got to celebrate a fantastic five years of operation with ribs, giveaways, and live music!
The Mill is, of course, one of our favorite places! With great food, an amazing staff, and the monthly singer-songwriter night, we love being there! So, when we heard about this upcoming 5th Anniversary Party, we knew we had to be there.
Of course, the food was delicious! We got there a bit early to get a good seat, so we ordered some appetizers to hold us over. We started with the Dirty Pork Fries and the seared Tuna. The fries were as good as ever, with just the right zest and a generous layer of shredded pork. The Tuna was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, with a sauce (wasabi & horseradish?) that compliments both the tuna & the pork fries so well.
As we finished those, the ribs were just finishing... so of course we ordered a rack of ribs. Again, outstanding flavor, juicy, and seasoned just right!
In ironic timing, we had heard about the party the day after first seeing Kurt Lindsay at Lake City Pub. And then we realized Kurt Lindsay was going to be sharing the stage with Kristen Marlo as the entertainment for this afternoon!
This duo was truly twice the fun, and it was clear they are a musical match! Bringing wit and stories, they played covers as well as originals, even taking a few requests at the end.
We’ve said it before, but we can’t say it enough, the combination of musical talent and engaging stage presence is rare to find! And Kurt and Kristen are both a fantastic mix of the two!
This was our first opportunity to sit on the patio, and we enjoyed a surprise appearance from the sun! It was also a perfect area to dance between the tables. It always makes us so happy to see the warm responses from artists, venues, and patrons when we get up to dance to live music.

It might have been the Mill’s anniversary, but we got the gifts! They had raffle drawings on the hour for hats and shirts with the Mill’s logo and local gift cards! Everyone had a great time with it as folks won different items. One of the other tables won a gift card to The Wine Spot, and of course I (Zeek) went over to chat with them and let them know what a gem the place is. They are excited to get a chance to check it out! We even won 3 matching hats which of course led to some great pictures. It was a fantastically fun afternoon!
So, for now, cheers to Washington sun and The Mill’s 5th Anniversary!
(And the bottle of both champagne and wine that we enjoyed along with the event…)
