Sunday at the Sunbanks Music Festival
After the rain washed out the festival on Saturday afternoon, Sunday opened with a beautiful blue sky!
After a few days of partying hard, everyone was slow to rise even with the bright sun encouraging the party to restart. The morning began with Dark Side of the Moon playing, a Sunbanks tradition, before Billy Stoops got up to recap the festivities thus far. He announced today’s lineup, and thanked the musicians, staff, and attendees alike for contributing to what had been a phenomenal weekend so far!
Everyone was slow to get going Sunday morning, which left us with a relatively clear dance floor as the musicians took the stage. It eventually filled back up as other festival attendees emerged, ready to celebrate good music and company! We were eventually joined by Barb and her husband Milo, who even took a video of us dancing! I (Denice) think this is my favorite dance video from the whole weekend!
Sunday Evening and Closing out the Festival
We had to thank everyone for a great evening!
After the sun went down, and Denice went to bed, many of us gathered for a makeshift after party. We sang together and enjoyed just a bit more great comradery around music before accepting the end of the evening and heading to bed. It may not have been music up on the main stage, but gathered around a couple guitars, singing together, was a great ending to this wonderful weekend.
Sunday marked our last day enjoying the Sunbanks Music Festival. Monday morning it was time to pack up and head on home. Although we still stopped for a wonderful lunch on our way home!
I know we’ve said it before, but this was a phenomenal event, and we are so grateful to have been welcomed into the Sunbanks Music Festival family. We are already counting down the days to the September one! (105 days to go to be exact.)
So, for now, cheers to Billy Stoops, Leanne Trevalyan, Barb and Milo, and the Sunbanks Music Festival!
And keep an eye out for our next post… We are headed from one great event on to another one and can’t wait to share it with you!
