Sunbanks Blues Festival: Day One

We love to go where the party is, even if that party is several hours away, over a mountain pass, on the opposite side of the state… Nothing stops us!

This weekend is the Sunbanks Blues Fest! The party started Thursday night at the Cantina opening show, but we drove over Friday morning and are catching the festival in action.

A few months back, one of the couples in the group of folks we know at many of the same local spots got chatting with us about this trip they had coming up to a festival. Not just any festival, but the one Billy Stoops had been running for years; Sunbanks Blues Festival. Now, here we are! We are so excited to be on the way to meet up with many friends and hear great music. And of course, we are certain there will be more than a few chances for us to dance!

On the Way

As soon as we arrived (to sun thank goodness!) we jumped right into the music and dancing!

The place is buzzing! The music is loud, the people are great, and the space is plentiful. We don’t ease in, we jumped in! We got into dancing right away, and even whipped out a new move we had only practiced in our living room so far!

As the sun goes down, the energy somehow goes even further up. The music and performance rocks. This is going to be a late night of great fun, and for us it is only night 1!

So, for now, cheers to bright lights, loud music, and high energy evenings at the Sunbanks Blues Festival!
