Our Annual Wine-cation to Eastern, WA

Every year we take our annual trip to Eastern, WA to stock up on some of our favorite wines. With our anniversary and Zeek’s birthday falling at the end of August, that is normally the best reasons to take this trip. This year, Zeek had a work conference fall during that time in Yakima, so we decided to take the opportunity for an extended trip to our favorite areas! Over 7 days we visited our favorite spots from Yakima to Walla Walla and came home with quite the wine collection! While more details will come, enjoy this vlog style post with videos of the highlights of our trip!

We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts together and fantastic dinners while Zeek was in the conference. I (Denice) spent that time doing yoga, reading my Bible with extended Bible Studies, and practicing zentangle meditation. It was a fantastic opportunity to decompress and reset!

While it may not be our typical choice of local hometown restaurant or pub, one of the conference company’s hosted dinner at Bob’s Burgers! A little reminiscent to us of the Walker Hayes’ Fancy Like song, we had a great time together.

End of August in Eastern, WA… It was H O T !

I think the hottest we saw ended up being 110. Although places out there are prepared for that with AC, fans, and patio misters. But we stayed inside during the heat of the day!

By all definitions it was a great trip! We stocked up on wine, took plenty of time to relax with each other, and even enjoyed dancing and live music on some of our stops. After 7 days of touring Eastern, WA (and a quick accidental detour through Northern Oregon) we arrived back home to a very happy dog who missed us!

We wanted to share some of the highlights, but rest assured we will be back with more posts detailing our favorite stops and wines, and hopefully inspire you to take your own trip out to Eastern, WA!

So, for now, cheers to vacation however it may happen, and enjoying all the delights Eastern, WA has to offer!
