Lettin’ Loose at Lake City Pub

It’s Saturday night and riveting music spills out of this packed pub into the gravel parking lot. In case the music wasn’t enough, sounds of cheering, scents of homecooked meals, and the glow of neon light should be more than enough to pull you in! Lake City Pub, locally known as that sexy dive, is our favorite place to be during live music Saturday nights.

We always get there early to get a good seat and some great food before the music. You can’t go wrong with bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, the house candied walnut salad, or smoked brisket sandwiches. Pair that with prosecco or a bottle of their Argento Malbec and we are on cloud nine. This isn’t your everyday bar food!

We aren’t sure what first got us there. There is a group of us who all follow the same rotation of musicians and go where they are playing. Maybe someone recommended this as the next stop one night. But we keep coming back for the great service, delicious food, and the phenomenal musician line up on Saturday nights!

This particular evening was one of the greats, Billy Stoops and Leanne Trevalyan! This is our favorite duo and we go wherever they are going to be performing!

Not a lot of places have a dedicated dance floor, but that doesn’t stop us! Even just a little space between tables is more than plenty. We just keep an eye out for servers and guests walking through to make sure to let them by.

We loved this next dance to “Deep in the Hills”, an original from Billy. It is a fun example of how our dancing isn’t always perfectly smooth, but neither is the live music! But that is half the fun of a live event. And the hardest critics when it comes to dancing in public is always ourselves. It can take a while to build up the confidence to get on a public “stage”, but once you are out there it is truly just about having fun! We spend time intentionally practicing our dancing at home, but when we go out to dance it is all about enjoying the evening!

You can hear as everyone in the room, musicians and audience alike, has fun with the performance. We were always told dancing is a relationship with the artist, it is a way to show how much you appreciate and respond to the music! But the beat is a great one for some fun East Coast Swing!

Please note, some language and themes in this song are not appropriate for a young audience

An evening at the bar is not the first place most people would go for a good workout, but when you are dancing every other song, it certainly is! We slowed it down just a little with this one towards the end of the evening.

Our evening was of course fantastic! Plenty of dancing, great live music, delicious food and drinks. Not much more we can ask for! We’ve saved all of our dancing videos at Lake City Pub to a playlist on YouTube. Check it out for more dancing during different artists at our favorite Pub!

So, for now, cheers to great evenings at our Lake City Pub!
