SINGER SONGWIRTER #47
Yes, again at The Mill in Milton for the first Wednesday of the Month!
The artists in the round were scheduled to be Kim & Brian, who we’d just spent New Year’s Eve enjoying, and new to us, Zan Fiskum… who unfortunately had car troubles and couldn’t make it. Just to change things up bit more, Billy Stoops was still on vacation, so Leanne Trevelyan was Em Cee! Well, Leanne has gone toe to toe with some of the greatest on the local stages, and with her decades of experience… the Em Cee roll was no where near a challenge for her!
Tonight, again Kim and Brian filled the space with great music, the story of where some of the songs came from (ask me sometime about their story… and then my story… about Cheap Wine Girl, which is a great song to dance to) and acoustic guitar that just fit the space. After doing a few of their own individual songs, some of their own songs as a duo, and giving some stories behind the songs… the two asked if it would be foul to play a cover at singer songwriter night. The crowd, the staff, and the Em Cee all agreed that what ever the duo wanted to play would be great by us. Well, the music of Gerry Rafferty was soon echoing through the bar… ass though Kim and Brian were the origin of the songs from roughly the late 1970s.
So again, the Open Range Singer Songwriter nights at The Mill prove to be some of the best times to hear local musicians, get to know the stories behind the songs, and dance to a couple of great songs!
MAYBE WE’LL SEE YOU AT #48!
CHEERS!
